Come fly with us....

You may have noticed: this has been quiet for a while. You may be thinking "Another blog drifting away like so much tumbleweed".

Not so.

We're relocating. Our lovely, humble little shack of a blog is moving to a bright, new premises, at the address of www.psgaymers.com. We are working hard at finishing the code at the moment, so there is no content to see right now, but rest assured we are writing new articles, generating new content, and most excitingly of all, new features to support our little community, which has very proudly just reached 700 members. That's right: 700 gay guys and girls who own a PlayStation of some sort and who are gaming. Take that, haters. That group is also relocating, to out flashy new page, which too will be better home for our little virtual village. We hope you can join us next year when the site launches: we'll keep you posted here and on FaceBook.

Review: Enslaved: Odyssey to the West

When Enslaved: Odyssey to the West was announced I was pretty excited. First of all, it's a game developed by Team Ninja, the developers behind one of my favorite - yet underrated - PS3 titles, Heavenly Sword, that alone guaranteed my release-day purchase. Enslaved is a gorgeous platforming action-adventure game inspired by the Chinese novel "Journey to the West," and the History Channel apocalyptic documentary "Life After People."

The game stars Monkey and Trip, two humans that are being taken by enslavers aboard a ship. Trip, being a tech genious, manages to escape her containment cell and heads to an escape pod. Monkey, using brute strength breaks the containment cell and follows her. After managing to escape and while Monkey is unconscious, Trip puts a headband on Monkey which will allow her to "enslave" him and if he disobeyes a command will be in pain, if he hurts her or she dies - he dies!

Killzone 3 Multiplayer Beta: Impressions

Mechs are some of the new pleasures awaiting Killzone fans.
Imagine the following: you go out with a guy. He's kind of heavy, and consciously different from other guys. He's solid, exciting and your relationship gives you something no other relationship had before. Now imagine this same guy goes on a diet, and he comes back leaner, faster, smoother, more toned and with big guns and new tricks up his sleeve. He's not quite the same guy you fell in love with, but he's worked really hard to get himself in this shape, and underneath it all, he's still the same guy. That's what has happened with Killzone 3

Back in the Day: Killzone 2 Multiplayer

Killzone 2 fans will recognise the interior of the New Sun

Killzone 2 is at time of writing, the second biggest selling PlayStation 3 title of 2009, and whilst much deserved fuss has been made of its stunning, dense graphics and the weighty first-person gameplay, we want to take this opportunity to share a little about  the real meat on it's violent, blackened bones: the great multiplayer experience, Warzone. It's here where the events of the game's singleplayer narrative come alive as you battle it out as either the red-eyed Helghast ( a sci-fi version of the Nazi's) or the true-blue ISA (Robert Heinlein-influenced Space Marines).

EuroGamer Expo Impressions

It can't hope to compete with the likes of GamesCom, TGS, or E3, the EuroGamer Expo at Earls Court is one of the few gaming shows that takes place in London town, so it definitely merited a visit on a typically blustery and wet English autumn morning. Smaller in scale than something like GamesCom, without the pomp and bluster of big stands, dancers and massive expo halls [and with food that frankly embarrases the British: jacket potato's for £6.00? I could buy a decent meal for less than that in Cologne!], the EG Expo is aimed fairly and squarely at the gamers, who turned out in force in a huge queue, braving the wind and rain to get their hands on some by-now familiar titles. It was also a much more traditional gaming crowd than the one we experienced at Cologne, and by this mean I affectionately refer to awkward, gangly kids wearing glasses in hoodies branded with metal bands, but perhaps because this was a Friday, the upper echelon of that magic 18-26 range were still at work. The mood was chilled out and fun, and the queues were enthusiastic, especially for those big FPS titles due this Christmas: you know, low budget, low profile titles like Call of Duty: Black Ops and Medal of Honour?
