Our ratings system

Before I got into gaming, I was into film. The transition from a straightforward "4/5" to a politically and emotionally charged "9.7/10" and the ensuing fanboy nuclear salvo  of "omg IGN is Sony fanboyz lolz 360 FTW" was disconcerting to say the least. I will be clear: I do not approve of the numerical points system for games. Games create highly subjective, interactive experiences that should not be quantified into numbers, but, in this writer's humble opinion, in writing that should reflect the experience of the player and why they want (or don't want) other gamers to share it. To this end, we've created a simple ratings system that is just a bit queer. It's called.....

The Gaymers' Verdict

Marriage Material:
A game you should unequivocally buy and keep for life; true love.

Boyfriend Material:
A game we like and think you will enjoy playing with for some time.

Good for a first date:
Worth taking out for a spin at least once, but exercise caution.

You looked better online:
Fail. Coyote ugly. Not recommended or sorely disappointing.
